Locker #505: Keep kids in school and feeling good about themselves.
Our Mission:provide appropriate school clothing to K-12 Bernalillo County students in need.
Locker #505 is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has established a student-focused facility where children can try on and choose outfits that they feel good about wearing. Having appropriate school clothing allows children to concentrate on their school work, not their clothing. It also helps keep children, who might not go to class because of their clothes, stay in school.
It is crucial to us that each student is treated with the utmost respect and kindness and leaves Locker #505 feeling good.
Our History:In 1950, concerned parents and teachers, recognizing the need to assist some students with clothing and shoes,
began the BCCPTA Clothing Bank. This was a student-centered facility where children could try on clothes in comfortable and welcoming surroundings
aided by caring and knowledgeable employees and volunteers. When the BCCPTA Clothing Bank closed its doors in 2013, a great resource for children was
lost to the Bernalillo County community. Locker #505 was founded in 2014 to once again provide a student-centered clothing facility for children in need
where they can find loving assistance in choosing appropriate school clothing.
